Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Stem Splitter — Vocal Remover & Karaoke Maker application ("the App") published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Stem Splitter is an iOS application that separates audio recordings into four stems — vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments — using a Core ML neural-network model that runs on the device’s Apple Neural Engine. Features include audio file import (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, share extension), four-stem separation, a multitrack stem player with mute/solo/volume controls, A/B comparison with the original mix, and individual stem or custom-mix export to WAV or MP3.

2. Important Limitations

Stem Splitter is an audio separation tool, not a guaranteed restoration service. You understand and agree that:

• The App is trained for popular-music-style mixes (drums, bass, vocals, harmonic accompaniment). Results on classical music, voice-only recordings, or unconventional mixes may be poor or unusable.
• Some audible bleed between stems is expected and depends on the source material. Heavily compressed, low-bitrate, or low-quality source files produce lower-quality separations.
• The App rejects DRM-protected tracks (Apple Music, audiobooks, protected purchases) at import. The App will not attempt to bypass DRM under any circumstance. Bring your own files.
• The App is not a replacement for professional source separation services or studio multitracking.
• Hardware floor: the App requires iPhone 12 (A14) or later. Performance scales with newer Apple Neural Engine hardware.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and only on audio you have the right to process. You agree not to:

• Process audio you do not own or have explicit permission to separate (separation may violate copyright on commercial recordings — check applicable laws in your jurisdiction)
• Attempt to bypass the App’s DRM detection in order to separate protected tracks
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the bundled or downloaded machine-learning model
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or free-tier limitations
• Use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or third-party rights

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free tier: No charge. 3 separations per calendar month, up to 6 minutes per track, MP3 192 kbps export only, with banner and interstitial advertising.
• Premium Monthly: $4.99/month. Unlimited separations, no track length limit, WAV and MP3 320 kbps export, custom mix downloads, background processing for long tracks, and zero ads.
• Premium Annual: $29.99/year (save 50% vs. monthly), with a 7-day free trial. Same Premium feature set as monthly.
• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple’s Terms of Service.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• If you cancel during a free trial period before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice. Existing subscribers retain their original price for the remainder of the active term.

5. User Content

Audio files, generated stems, custom mixes, and project history are stored locally on your device. You retain all rights to your audio. We do not access, collect, or store your content on any server.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and packaged content, is owned by Bulpara Inc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose. The bundled or downloaded machine-learning model is licensed for use within the App only and may not be extracted or redistributed.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT SEPARATION RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR A SPECIFIC RECORDING.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BULPARA INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Decisions made based on a separated stem (publication, broadcast, sampling, distribution)
• Audio quality of separated stems, including residual bleed between stems
• Copyright disputes arising from your use of separated material
• Loss of original recordings due to user error or device failure
• Subscription-related charges that fall under Apple’s billing policy

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bulpara Inc from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, including any audio you process and distribute.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the business.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
